FORZA1 NATIONAL & REGIONAL TEAMS

We would like to welcome all of our National & Regional Team players and families to FORZA1 and express our excitement in working with your daughter and family this year!

FORZA1 National Teams will practice 3x per week and Regional Teams will practice 2x peer week.  We look forward to the terrific development players will experience training in our facility with our coaches.

FORZA1 National & Regional Teams will compete in the Southern California Volleyball Association (SCVA) league that is based out of Anaheim, California. To learn more about the SCVA visit their website here. To see your teams competition schedule visit your team web page or view the SCVA Schedule Page.

National Teams will all attend the Los Angeles Junior National Qualifier hosted by the SCVA in March 2020. To learn more about the "GJNQ" go to USA Volleyball's website. More information about this tournament will be given out at your team meeting as well.

At the end of the season, FORZA1 National Teams will attend a National tournament (either USA, AAU or Volleyball Festival). Which tournament we attend will be on a team by team basis but in general:

LEVEL OF PLAY - NATIONAL

At FORZA1 our National Teams will compete at the top of the Southern California Volleyball Association (SCVA). The top 4 Divisions in the SCVA are called "Gold" and it is our goal to have at least one team in Division 1 and all National teams in Divisions 1-4. It's important to know that the SCVA is the toughest and deepest league in the country. This means that competing at this level is a challenge every tournament and every match is important.

FORZA1 as a volleyball club will focus on PLAYER DEVELOPMENT and to accomplish the goal we have set out to accomplish we must develop our players. The majority of time spent during the season will be in practice hours and it is here that we will develop players and expect their full effort and concentration.

Game time and tournament play is the result and reward of development. As with all things, players are at varying levels of expertise/ability and varying levels of skill/gamesmanship. At the National level, players that demonstrate IN PRACTICE greater skill, system knowledge, execution and general effect on the team will experience more playing time. The degree of playing time (more or less) will depend on how close or how far the gap is between your daughter and the players she is competing with for playing time.

In a perfect world, all players have a similarly positive effect on the team's success but this is not always the case and it is ultimately up to the coach to decide which players/line-up gives the team the best chance for success. In general, if you are a player that wants more time on the court, it is best to find ways to have that positive effect on the team that the coach is looking for.

LEVEL OF PLAY - REGIONAL

At FORZA1 our Regional Teams will compete in the Southern California Volleyball Association (SCVA) league. Depending on the age group there are numerous levels of competition (Gold/Silver/Bronze/FlightABC...).

It's important to know that the SCVA is the toughest and deepest league in the country. This means that competing in this league is a challenge every tournament and every match is an opportunity to be FORZA!

FORZA1 as a volleyball club will focus on PLAYER DEVELOPMENT and our Regional teams will provide opportunities for development in both practices and games. The majority of time, however, will be spent in practice hours and it is here that we will develop players and expect their full effort and concentration.

At the Regional level, players that demonstrate IN PRACTICE greater skill, system knowledge, execution and general effect on the team will experience more playing time.

Regional teams, however, do allow for more game-time development than say National teams, so our goal will be to let players develop in games as well. This means they will be given opportunities to learn things that they have yet to master, for example, rotations in a tournament setting.
